I don t know why but I never manage to get him online. I see him in LAN-list, but never on internet list.
And yes I vink the advertise option. Smile
I don t find much info about making server in manual either. Crying or Very sad

Some xp version I saw same problem. U must disable xp firewall.
But then disable firewall some viruses easy infecte your computer.
U can use 3rt parti firewall.
sygate personal firewall http://www.sygate.com/ Easy usage than zonealarm.
Zonealarm personal firewall http://www.zonelabs.com/
Avast4 is best freeware antivirus. Im using since 2001 http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Step 1
Right click on the network connections settings icon in the bottom right of your screen and left click on “Open Network Connections”

Step 2
Right click on your current network connection icon and left click on “Properties”.

Step 3
Left click on the tab marked “Advanced”

Step 4
Now disable internet connection firewall.

Now u must see own server in internet list.

Hey Grandpa I have had the same problem for about a year straight to a few days ago! I thought maybe I don't have the right files or something. I had tryed turning my firewalls off and everything. Until I learned my modem can block ports also! I learned that even if you turn all firewalls on the cpu off the modem or router is still a force to be reckoned with! This is what I did. I don't know If you have a dsl router like me but, I went to start -> run -> then typed cmd. when my command prompt opened, i typed "ipconfig" without quotations. Press enter. That will tell you all your addresses for your cpu. I next took my gateway # like 172.xx.xxx.x or whatever and put it in my url and it took me to my dsl modem configuration. From there I opened up the ports that are needed to make a server. Open ports 7777 + 7778 + 7779. For tcp/ip, udp, and for master server! I hope this helps Wink I am more than willing to help further if it doesn't help!

Speedtouch modem. Does a modem have firewall too? I thought only routers had.

But I ve seen I can open ports in my firewall too. But wich port with tcp and wich with udp?

When Tryed to make server I watched in log file. It said port 7778 succesfuly bound. 7779 also.

It turns out that modems can be configured to block ports also. Anyway you need to open ports 7777 for tcp/ip, 7778 udp, and 7779 for I think the master server or something. Your modem sounds very different from mine but what you should do is ask youself how it was installed. Find the wizard for it or better yet find the modem manual. Because when I dicovered this about my modem It was set to not allow ANY connections to my computer. Did you try going to your gateway? From ipconfig like in the last post?? That is what allowed me to edit my modem. The reason you go to your gateway is because your modem is your gateway to the internet. It is the address directly for your modem. Keep me posted I wanna help! Smile

NAPT properties:
Protocol:

Inside IP:

Inside Port:

Outside IP:

Outside Port:

I found this, Where do I fill in what?

Sorry for being such a noob.
Confused

And you can t believe how much I appreciate your help. Thanks.

The big problem is that all this stuff is in english, and my technical english sucks. So I have to translate to dutch, but the translaters on internet suck even harder. Rolling Eyes

And you were right, There is no port open.

Hey man! Sorry for not responding lately! Sad Ive been busy doing many things! Um When you start a server on one of the tabs it says port. I think the default puts # 80 in. You need to type in 7777! This is the TCP/IP listen port. In turn the cpu will use 7778 for udp and 7779 for master server. This is my configuration.

TCP 7777-7779
UDP 7777-7779
UDP 27900

From Talking to people it doesn't sound like I am the only one that can configure my modem through the internet gateway address. Try consulting your modem manual and making sure that xp's firewall is off!
Keep me posted
